Matt Carlen – President, Huntley Hospital

Carlen joined NM in September 2018.  Carlen currently serves as the president of Huntley Hospital.  Prior to being the president of Huntley Hospital, Carlen was the president of Woodstock Hospital.  Before joining NM through the merger of Northwestern Medicine and Centegra Health System, Carlen worked at Centegra for seven years in various roles leading ambulatory services including immediate care, outpatient rehabilitation, medical and surgical weight loss, and health and fitness centers.  Prior to joining Centegra, he worked in Baltimore at Life Bridge Health in the for-profit division.

Carlen has two Bachelor of Science degrees from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania, one in recreation and fitness management and the other in health and physical education. He also has a Master of Health Administration from National Louis University.

Carlen lives in Mundelein with his wife, Cathy, and their children.  He grew up in Stockholm, Sweden and moved to the United States at the age of 18 to pursue a college degree.
