Who We Are
We are a community leadership organization who is educating leaders today … inspiring them to strengthen the county’s future.
Launched in 2004, Leadership Greater McHenry County addresses one critical need of every effective community: to foster and develop community leaders who are concerned for all public processes.
No other countywide program exists with the same mission and focus. Leadership must be developed; it does not just happen. By fostering community leadership through focused programs, we create a leadership resource for the entire county.
LGMC participants are from all sectors of our community. Through the ten-month program, they are equipped to move into a variety of leadership positions on boards or commissions, as well as to advance within their sponsoring organizations.
Today, LGMC is over 560+ alumni strong. Our passion and commitment to positively impact the future of McHenry County is seen in the many civic, charitable, government, education and business organizations we proudly serve.
