Marcy Piekos

Executive Director, LGMC Class of ’08

Marcy Piekos is the Executive Director of Leadership Greater McHenry County (LGMC). LGMC is a 501©3 organization dedicated to developing community leaders. In addition to managing the operations of the organization, she is a facilitator for LGMC Leadership and Learning Academy. The Academy offers sessions in strategic planning, board development, and effective communication, to profit and non-profit organizations. As part of the Academy, Marcy has facilitated sessions for forty-five organizations including Altus Academy, Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County, CASA, Chicago Sun Times, Centegra Health System, Cleveland Clinic, Dignity Health of San Francisco, Family Health Partnership Clinic, Home of The Sparrow, Huntley Chamber of Commerce, Medcor, Marion Central Catholic High School, Friends of McHenry County College Foundation as well as the College Board of Trustees NAMI of McHenry County, Options and Advocacy, Pioneer Center, Sage Products, Salvation Army, The Challenger Learning Center, Woodstock Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Woodstock Public Library.

Marcy is formerly president of Maverick Minds Consulting, a personal enrichment and professional development company. She has been a corporate instructor and facilitator for 34 years. She has facilitated organizational development skills for fortune 500 companies throughout Chicago-land as well as consulted to McHenry Community College and Elgin Community College.

Marcy was employed by United Airlines for thirty-two years where she was a corporate trainer, and coordinated delivery of human factors training for 24,000 flight attendants and 1,000 new hire pilots. The safety based program, Command, Leadership, Resource Management, (C/L/R), was mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to address the question “why do mechanically sound aircraft and highly trained professionals crash?” Due to the success at United, Marcy also delivered this program at Frontier Airlines. This program became the national standard for crew resource training.

Marcy attended North Central College and Northern Illinois University majoring in special education for visually handicapped and minor in Spanish. Her extensive training back ground includes Board Development certification through BoardSource, certifications in Frameworks of Poverty, Development Dimensions International (DDI), Center for Non-Violent Communication, The Leadership Challenge, and Decker Communications.

Marcy served for eight years as a member of the Board of Education for Community Unit School District 200 in Woodstock, and was formerly a trustee for LGMC. She was bestowed the honor of being the Distinguished Women of the Year for 2018 by the Woodstock Professional and Business Women. She is has recently served as an advisor to Turning Point and was an advisor for the Incubator program at Woodstock High in 2016-2017. Marcy lives and thrives in Woodstock, Illinois.

 

Toni Seagren

Youth Program Director

Toni joined LGMC in 2009. She is an administrative professional and supports LGMC‘s Executive Director, Board of Trustees and Committees. She also leads the LGMC Youth Program. Prior to joining LGMC she was a Vice President of Information Systems at BMO Harris Bank. Toni earned a degree in Public Relations from Illinois State University. She is a technical guru at heart and a fanatic sports fan of all teams but mostly the Chicago Cubs, Bulls and Bears. When not working she spends time with her husband Jeff, daughter Riley, sons Carson and Jonathan.

 

 

Monica Whitney

Administrative Assistant

Monica joined LGMC in January 2022 as an Administrative Assistant. She has worked as a C.N.A. for 15 years and is self-employed as a Home Health Caregiver. She is passionate about art and attended Robert Morris College in Chicago IL for Graphic Design. She is currently enrolled at McHenry County College, taking courses in Administrative Office Management. When not working she spends her time with her boyfriend of 6 yrs., Jim, their sons Jordan and Chase and daughters Leah and Neva.
